Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Manage student behavior with firm yet compassionate guidance
- Assist students with boarding, exiting, and securing seatbelts
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Adhere to all traffic laws, district policies, and safety protocols
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports accurately
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B CDL with passenger endorsement
- DOT medical certificate (provided if needed)
- Minimum 1 year driving experience
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for emergency situations
- Patience and ability to work with diverse student populations
