Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently operate Class A or B commercial trucks to transport cargo to designated locations within the Atlanta metro area and surrounding regions.
- Load and Unload: Properly secure cargo using straps and chains, ensuring safety during transit and compliance with weight regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition; report any maintenance needs immediately.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of delivery logs, timesheets, and inspection reports.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and partners, ensuring a positive image of Apex Freight Logistics.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A or B) with the required endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker) as per job requirements.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and sit for extended periods.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in a commercial vehicle.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps, delivery orders, and safety regulations.
- Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required to meet customer demands.
