Responsibilities
- Transport goods safely and on time to designated commercial and residential destinations within the Portland metro area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure full compliance with safety and DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bill of lading documentation, and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading, unloading, and delivery handovers.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and protected from damage during transit.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route changes, traffic delays, and any potential issues.
Qualifications
- Own and maintain a reliable, well-maintained Box Truck (GVW under 26,000 lbs).
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B (depending on cargo requirements).
- Current DOT medical card and valid commercial auto insurance.
- Clean driving record with no major violations within the last 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of local Portland traffic patterns, road conditions, and geography.
- Ability to lift and handle cargo (up to 50 lbs) as required for loading and unloading.
- Reliable smartphone for communication and digital documentation.
