Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for overnight freight delivery across the Memphis metro area
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and HOS compliance during all shifts
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and delivery timelines
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment while following safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with customers and warehouse personnel during deliveries
- Document delivery exceptions and maintain electronic logging system accuracy
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Memphis area routes and regional highways
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Willingness to adapt to changing delivery schedules and weather conditions
