Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and field trips following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Manage student behavior with positive reinforcement and conflict resolution techniques
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adhere to federal/state DOT regulations and school district policies
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and student medical needs
- Complete all required documentation and incident reports accurately
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and passenger endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings and afternoons)
- Strong commitment to student safety and customer service
- Knowledge of Albuquerque traffic patterns and school zones
