Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Manage student behavior and ensure a positive travel environment
- Complete accurate daily route logs and incident reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple student age groups
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of Richmond area routes and traffic patterns
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
