Responsibilities
- Safely transport students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct daily pre/post-trip inspections of school buses
- Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Coordinate with parents and school staff on transportation needs
- Operate specialized equipment including wheelchair lifts
- Participate in ongoing safety training and drills
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B CDL with Passenger & School Bus endorsements
- Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Pass federal background check and DOT physical
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
