Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and positive reinforcement
- Maintain accurate attendance records and route documentation
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adapt routes for field trips and extracurricular activities as needed
- Emergency preparedness training and incident reporting
Qualifications
- Valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus endorsement
- Minimum 1 year driving experience or willingness to complete paid training
- Pass background check and DOT physical examination
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Patience and strong commitment to child safety
- Flexible availability for early morning and afternoon shifts
