Responsibilities
- Transport freight safely and efficiently to designated destinations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) logs and delivery paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Keep the truck clean and organized, ensuring the cargo area is secure.
Qualifications
- Clean Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit for extended periods of time.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional geography in the Newark, NJ area.
