Responsibilities
- Safely transport freight shipments between warehouses, distribution centers, and client locations across Jersey City and surrounding areas
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging system compliance
- Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and on-time deliveries
- Ensure proper loading/unloading of freight with appropriate equipment
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic regulations
- Communicate delivery status and exceptions to clients and logistics team
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Proficiency in electronic logging device (ELD) systems
- Strong knowledge of Jersey City area roadways and traffic patterns
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
