Responsibilities
- Safe Driving: Operate a delivery vehicle in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Deliver packages to residential and commercial addresses with a friendly demeanor, ensuring the customer’s identity is verified.
- Package Handling: Load, unload, and organize packages in the delivery vehicle to ensure efficient delivery routes and prevent damage.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of delivery statuses, times, and any issues encountered during the route.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or damages immediately.
- Route Planning: Follow GPS directions and optimize delivery sequences to ensure timely arrivals.
- Communication: Use the mobile app to update customers on delivery status and communicate with the dispatch center.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class C Driver’s License required.
- Record: Clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years).
- Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Technology: Comfortable using smartphone applications for navigation and delivery updates.
- Residency: Must reside within the New York, NY metropolitan area.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
