Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, and aggregates to job sites
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and local traffic laws while navigating Durham-area routes
- Load/unload materials efficiently using hydraulic controls and proper safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery schedules and site conditions
- Maintain clean, professional vehicle appearance and report maintenance needs promptly
- Assist in training new drivers and promote a culture of safety and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of dump truck operation experience in construction or logistics
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings and weekends as needed
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for on-site minor repairs
- Strong spatial awareness and ability to maneuver large vehicles in confined spaces
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance record
