Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently on various job sites throughout the Chicago area.
- Load and unload materials (gravel, sand, dirt) using proper equipment and techniques.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) according to DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers regarding job status and route changes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Keep the truck clean and presentable, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy haul vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of load securement and DOT regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and time management abilities.
- Must be able to lift and handle heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
