Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner on long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulations.
- Vehicle Care: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify potential mechanical issues and ensure the vehicle is road-ready.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records, bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Freight Handling: Safely load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring secure transit.
- Communication: Maintain constant communication with dispatch and customers to provide status updates and resolve any delivery issues promptly.
- Compliance: Stay updated on and comply with all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR (Over-The-Road) driving experience.
- Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Background: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) compliant drug screen and criminal background check.
- Regulations: Strong working knowledge of FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) rules and regulations.
- Skills: Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
