Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles to transport freight to designated locations on time and in full.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving time and vehicle status using ELD technology.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo protection.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and safety personnel regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety protocols, and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and well-maintained at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, traffic laws, and hazardous material handling (if applicable).
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and navigate various road conditions and terrains.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting.
