Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Safely load, secure, and transport cargo to designated delivery points throughout San Diego and surrounding regions.
- Manage all necessary delivery paperwork, including bills of lading and electronic logging device (ELD) logs.
- Maintain a clean and professional image while providing exceptional customer service at every stop.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and company safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding route changes, delays, or urgent needs.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks, such as monitoring tire pressure and fluid levels.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of California.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and valid DOT drug screen.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Excellent driving record with no preventable accidents or serious violations.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and long hours as required by the schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to pass a background check and submit to a pre-employment physical.
