Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) across Illinois and Midwest routes
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and pre/post-trip inspection protocols
- Coordinate with dispatch via remote communication tools for real-time routing updates
- Document delivery receipts and maintain accurate electronic logs using ELD systems
- Provide exceptional customer service during freight transfers and delivery interactions
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation
- Strong communication skills for remote team coordination
- Flexibility for regional routes with occasional overnight stays
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting knowledge preferred
