Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A or B trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently throughout the Charlotte area and beyond.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Load and unload cargo securely, adhering to weight distribution and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading and unloading processes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams regarding route changes and delays.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B (Commercial Driver's License) with the required endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, etc., if applicable).
- Clean Driving Record: No more than 3 minor moving violations in the past 3 years; no DUI/DWI convictions.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred; recent graduates welcome.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) consistently.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, pass a DOT physical examination, and have the stamina to drive long distances.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Tools: Reliable smartphone and access to email for communications.
