Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to transport freight to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring all items are secured properly to prevent damage or accidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date driver logs (DVIR, HOS, ELD records).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Basic computer literacy for logging duties and communication.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends if required.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling cargo as well as standing for extended periods.
