Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks in a safe and professional manner to deliver freight on time and within budget.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections according to strict DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo protection.
- Maintain accurate Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and all required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws, speed limits, and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and participate in continuous improvement programs.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) available for review.
- Pass a comprehensive background check, motor vehicle record (MVR) check, and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, cargo securement, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and navigate complex routes.
- Professional attitude and excellent customer service skills.
