Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods to and from various destinations within the DC metropolitan area.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring items are properly secured and protected from damage.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting professionally with clients and dispatchers.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.
- Ability to read maps and navigate complex city routes in the Washington DC area.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
