Job Overview
We are looking for reliable and safety-conscious drivers to handle local and regional freight in and around the Detroit area. Your role is crucial in keeping our supply chain moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing methods.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no DUIs or major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues is a plus.
