Responsibilities
- Transport freight safely and efficiently to local and regional destinations within Tampa and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and handling of goods.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and delivery receipts (PODs).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedule changes or delivery delays.
- Keep the truck clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Must own a clean, well-maintained box truck (Class A or B CDL preferred).
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a clean driving record (MVR).
- Current DOT medical card (Medical Examiner's Certificate).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Strong navigation skills and knowledge of the Tampa, FL road network.
- Reliable smartphone with data access for communication and ELD updates.
