Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport temperature-controlled freight
- Perform pre-trip inspections and document all vehicle maintenance requirements
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules while maintaining DOT compliance standards
- Utilize electronic logging systems and GPS tracking for route optimization
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Secure and unload freight using proper loading techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork for each shipment
- Participate in ongoing safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Maryland roadways and Mid-Atlantic corridor routes
- Basic knowledge of temperature control systems and refrigerated freight
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet tight delivery windows
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions
