Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver cargo on time and in pristine condition
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology while adhering to delivery schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain detailed maintenance logs
- Load/unload freight with proper lifting techniques and securement protocols
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status and exceptions
- Comply with all DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies
- Document delivery confirmations and handle customer inquiries professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with clean MVR
- Minimum 1 year verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Proficient in operating commercial vehicles up to 26,000 GVWR
- Strong knowledge of Houston metro area roadways and traffic patterns
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging and route navigation
- Excellent time management and customer service orientation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
