Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on assigned routes throughout Louisville and surrounding areas.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) efficiently.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation, ensuring full compliance with FMCSA hours-of-service rules.
- Ensure cargo security and timely delivery to customer facilities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and potential delays.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (or B for local) required.
- Must possess a current, valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major moving violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and criminal background check.
- Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to solve problems on the road.
- Basic English proficiency for communication purposes.
