Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to deliver freight to designated stops in and around Baton Rouge and surrounding regions.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and all required documentation, including Hours of Service (HOS) records.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo protection during transit.
- Interact professionally with customers at delivery points, resolving any issues promptly and courteously.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies to minimize risk and ensure accident-free driving.
- Report mechanical issues immediately to maintain fleet availability.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical).
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic math skills for cash and change handling.
