Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently over long-distance routes within Illinois and surrounding states.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo integrity and security during transport.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging devices (ELD) and adhere to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and route changes.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Uphold a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Willingness to obtain endorsements such as Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples as required by the role.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and traffic laws.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if necessary.
