Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods and packages to designated locations throughout New Orleans
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic regulations
- Load and unload cargo with care to prevent damage and maintain inventory accuracy
- Verify delivery details, obtain proper signatures, and maintain accurate delivery records
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions and resolve delivery-related inquiries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team regarding delivery status and any route challenges
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or equivalent delivery background
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple delivery schedules
- Basic proficiency with navigation technology and smartphone applications
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screening as per company policy
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned depot location
