Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A) over long and short distances, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and integrity during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with dispatch, customers, and fleet managers.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety culture and customer service at every stop.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Willingness to cross state lines and handle various cargo types (dry van, flatbed, or reefer).
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Reliable personal vehicle for local travel to the terminal if required.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules as needed.
