Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) safely and efficiently on local and regional routes within Virginia Beach and surrounding areas.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling of freight.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements.
- A clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Strong customer service skills and professional communication abilities.
