Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Transport freight to regional destinations while adhering to DOT regulations
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload shipments with proper equipment and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route status and delivery updates
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning
- Document delivery receipts and handle customer interactions professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Pass federal background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Proficient in using electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Familiarity with North Carolina roadways and delivery zones
