Responsibilities
- Safely transport freight using owner-operated box trucks within Portland metropolitan area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records per DOT regulations
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with dispatch team for optimal route planning and load assignments
- Provide professional customer service during delivery interactions
- Ensure compliance with Oregon state and federal transportation laws
- Manage fuel expenses and submit timely reimbursement documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean MVR
- Minimum 2 years verifiable box truck driving experience
- Proof of commercial truck insurance ($1M liability minimum)
- Relatively late-model box truck (2015 or newer) in good condition
- Smartphone with reliable data connectivity for dispatch apps
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during loading/unloading
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside repairs
- Strong time management and independent work ethic
