Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight within Portland metro area and regional routes
- Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections ensuring DOT compliance
- Load/unload freight using proper equipment and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logs
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules while prioritizing safety
- Perform minor preventative maintenance and report vehicle issues
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Portland area routes and Northwest geography
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with reliable attendance
- Basic computer skills for electronic logging and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly during loading/unloading
- Must be 23+ years old with valid passport for potential cross-border routes
