Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers for weekend delivery routes across NYC metro area
- Adhere to DOT regulations and strict delivery schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Coordinate with dispatch for real-time route adjustments
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, dollies)
- Communicate professionally with clients at delivery points
- Report maintenance issues and ensure vehicle cleanliness
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years tractor-trailer experience in urban environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (required)
- Smartphone proficiency for ELD and communication apps
- Weekend availability (Friday-Sunday) with occasional holidays
