Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently on local and regional delivery routes within the Detroit metro area.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict adherence to DOT regulations.
- Interact professionally with customers, receiving agents, and warehouse personnel to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) and DOT medical card.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable truck driving experience (Class A preferred).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and meeting the physical requirements of the job.
- Strong knowledge of Michigan traffic laws and local geography.
