Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A or Class B) to deliver freight on time and in perfect condition.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads according to DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols during weekend shifts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3-5 years).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road conditions, and cargo handling procedures.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and data entry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings, and holidays as required.
