Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure roadworthiness.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand tools).
- Maintain accurate electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding traffic conditions and delivery delays.
- Ensure the security and preservation of cargo during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no DUIs or major violations in the last 3 years.
- Must be available to work weekend shifts (Friday through Sunday).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of local Detroit and Michigan roadways.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
