Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and heavy-duty vehicles in and around the Charlotte metro area.
- Load and unload cargo accurately using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required by DOT regulations.
- Manage documentation including logbooks, bills of lading, and delivery receipts with 100% accuracy.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure the safety of passengers, cargo, and the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams to coordinate schedules and resolve any logistical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Pass DOT physical examination and meet federal medical standards.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and potentially overnight shifts.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
