Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver parcels and cargo to designated locations in the Chicago metropolitan area.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, speed limits, and safety regulations to ensure a secure delivery.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any maintenance needs.
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers during stops and handle customer inquiries professionally.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and digital paperwork using handheld devices.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred, but valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record is accepted.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience in a similar van or delivery capacity.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50-75 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Strong knowledge of the Chicago area streets, landmarks, and traffic patterns.
- Basic computer literacy for entering delivery data and logging hours.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
