Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment when necessary.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD), mileage records, and delivery paperwork in compliance with DOT standards.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and time windows to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding cargo status and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the state of Indiana.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Basic English reading and comprehension skills for logbooks and road signs.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen as required by federal regulations.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
