Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) to transport goods across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate delivery logs in compliance with DOT regulations
- Load/unload cargo efficiently with proper equipment handling and securement protocols
- Optimize delivery routes to meet tight deadlines while adhering to safety standards
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding shipment status
- Complete required paperwork (bills of lading, delivery confirmations) with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain clean driving record and adhere to all federal/state transportation laws
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Proficiency in using electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation systems
- Strong knowledge of hazardous materials handling (if applicable to route)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility for overnight trips and weekend shifts as needed
