Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Operate commercial trucks and trailers in compliance with all federal and state regulations, including FMCSA guidelines.
- Maintain Vehicle Integrity: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck and cargo are in safe, legal condition.
- Load & Unload: Secure cargo using appropriate tie-downs and assist with loading and unloading freight efficiently.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date electronic logging devices (ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dispatch to ensure timely deliveries and high satisfaction ratings.
- Route Planning: Follow designated routes and adhere to time schedules to maximize efficiency and fuel economy.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Current and valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License.
- Clean Record: Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no DUIs, serious traffic violations, or major accidents within the last 3 years.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and meet the strength requirements of the job.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Documentation: Ability to provide a current medical card, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use two-way radios and mobile devices effectively.
