Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following strict schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure student safety during boarding, transit, and departure
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment for all passengers
- Adhere to all traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Manage student behavior using positive reinforcement techniques
- Complete accurate daily mileage and incident reports
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements
- Minimum 25 years of age with clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience working with children preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings and afternoons)
