Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicle: Drive commercial trucks in compliance with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain Vehicle Condition: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues, wear and tear, or safety hazards.
- Load and Secure Cargo: Properly load freight, ensuring it is balanced and securely fastened to prevent damage during transit.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including logbooks, delivery receipts, and vehicle condition reports.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and third-party vendors to resolve any delivery issues or concerns.
- Route Planning: Utilize GPS and mapping tools to determine the most efficient routes, accounting for traffic, weather, and road conditions.
Qualifications
- CDL Class A: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is required.
- Driving Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Clean Record: Valid DOT Medical Card and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb in and out of the cab, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery orders.
- Technology Proficiency: Basic computer skills and familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
