Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and vehicles safely and efficiently on local and regional routes.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring all packages are handled with care and secured properly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of delivery times, mileage, and vehicle condition (DVIR).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform basic vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience preferred.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of local roadways in Washington DC and New York.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
- Must be able to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
