Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently during the designated night shift.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or pallet jacks, ensuring proper handling and weight distribution.
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and delivery paperwork in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial truck driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently during night hours.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
