Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport goods across Chicago metropolitan area
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and optimize routes for efficiency
- Conduct thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Comply with FMCSA regulations and local traffic ordinances
- Load/unload cargo with precision and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and clients regarding status updates
- Resolve delivery exceptions and coordinate with warehouse teams
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience
- Proven ability to navigate Chicago's complex roadways
- Flexible availability for overnight shifts (6 PM - 6 AM)
- Physical capability to handle 50+ lb loads and variable weather conditions
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting knowledge
- Pass DOT physical and random drug screenings
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
