Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport construction materials, including sand, gravel, dirt, and asphalt, to and from job sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and identify potential mechanical issues.
- Safely load and unload materials using the truck's hydraulic dump bed and other lifting equipment.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company driving policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and crew members regarding traffic conditions and job site requirements.
- Perform routine cleaning of the cab and truck bed to maintain professional appearance and hygiene standards.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required (Clean driving record).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks in a professional setting.
- Documentation: Must possess a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Background: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of local Milwaukee roadways and traffic patterns.
- Physical: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Communication: Professional demeanor and ability to use two-way radios and handheld devices.
