Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (53' dry van) within the NYC metro area and Northeast corridor
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Manage efficient loading/unloading operations with dock teams
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs (ELD compliance)
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Optimize routes to ensure timely deliveries while prioritizing safety
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends
- Basic knowledge of load securement and cargo safety
